Foundation of the Apostolate
On June 25, 2017, Monsignor Alfonso de Jesús Alfonzo Vaz asked a group of people to create the World Apostolate of the Virgin of Coromoto to pass on the Virgin of Coromoto advocation from generation to generation and divulge the message of the Virgin.
Structure
The World Apostolate of the Virgin of Coromoto has a chapter in each country. Each state or region is a section. Brotherhoods should be formed in each parish of a state.
Organization
The AMVC has a Board of Directors made up of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Members.
Mission
We are a non-profit civil association made up of lay Catholics worldwide. Its purpose is to divulge the Virgin of Coromoto’s advocation, spread the history of her apparition, promote devotion to her and communicate the message left by the Virgin Mary to Cacique Coromoto in Guanare on September 8, 1652, to convert new faithful.
Vision
To be recognized and accredited by the Dicastery for the Laity, Family, and Life as a movement called WORLD APOSTOLATE OF THE VIRGIN OF COROMOTO, with presence in all countries, made up of people from all over the world, known for our commitment to evangelization and sanctification, spreading the message left by the Blessed Mother in Venezuela for all families in the world and from generation to generation.
OBJECTIVES
To spread the message given by the Mother of God to Cacique Coromoto.
To invite all to mass celebrations in her honor.
To promote the prayer of the rosary, and the devotion of the first five Saturdays of the month.
To hold events, forums, and conferences about the Virgin of Coromoto.
To carry out pilgrimages to the National Sanctuary Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Coromoto.
To contribute to the maintenance and care of the Guanare Seminary and the Cathedral.
To expand the Museum of the Virgin of Coromoto and hold exhibitions throughout the country and internationally.
To celebrate the month of May dedicated to the Virgin beginning May 1, the same day when the Virgin of Coromoto was declared by the bishops of Venezuela as Patron of the Republic of Venezuela in 1942.
ORGANIZATION
IMPORTANCE OF THE VIRGIN OF COROMOTO
There are only 2 Marian apparitions, throughout history, in which the Virgin has left her image:
The Virgin of Guadalupe stayed in the Indian Juan Diego’s tilma; therefore, her image is imprinted on a man-made material.
The Virgin of Coromoto was left in the Cacique’s empty hands and it is imprinted in a heavenly material. That divine material is unknown and still under study.
APOSTOLATE WORK WORLDWIDE
The World Apostolate of Our Lady of Coromoto promotes spirituality among its members through retreats, gatherings, pilgrimages, and supporting the Cathedral and the National Shrine of Our Lady of Coromoto.
WORDS TO THE COROMOTAN MESSENGERS JULY 2023
Dear Coromotano Messengers and friends,
On June 25, 2023 we celebrated six years of having started the formation of a team that would carry out the World Apostolate of the Virgin of Coromoto, as requested by Monsignor Alfonso de Jesús Alfonzo Vaz. The first team was assembled and it is important to highlight how the Mother of God in Her dedication to Coromoto, the one who stops the storm, has been guiding us and pushing this work of building Her Spiritual Temple.
Let's review some of these important moments: we have carried out ten courses on our Lady of Coromoto with five workshops each, with a final work as a conclusion and thus become Coromotano Messengers. We give them a certificate and a card with a bar code, with the signature and endorsement of the Bishop of Guanare, Monsignor José de la Trinidad Valera. At all times we have walked hand in hand with our Church hierarchy.
During that time, we also offered courses on Latin American Mariology one and Latin American Mariology two, Doctrinal Mariology, Holiness in Venezuela, The Rosary and its deepening, Some Marian Advocations in the World.
On Fridays of Lent we had the Via Crucis. At Easter we prayed the Via Lucis and in the month of May we had a brief daily meditation on a virtue of the Mother of God. We made very solemnly, with detailed preparation, the Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Our Lady of Coromoto with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.
We promote the enthronement of the Altarpiece of the Pilgrim Virgin of Coromoto and we already have it in hundreds of places between parishes, schools, offices and hospitals.
We promote pilgrimages to the Sanctuary of Guanare, which have increased significantly since we started this campaign. During the pandemic we made three virtual pilgrimages that we broadcast around the world, with hundreds of followers.

The altarpiece has been enthroned in eight preschools and other primary schools in rural and urban areas.
We presented to Venezuela and the world the Hymn of the World Apostolate of our Lady of Coromoto and we premiere the Coromotana Creole Mass, both performed by Coromotano Messengers.We have grown so much that from July 2023 we want to incorporate as the motto of our Apostolate:Our Lady of Coromoto: a Venezuelan Invocation for the whole World.
On July 8, 2023, we began the eleventh course on our Lady of Coromoto with its five workshops, we continued with the daily rosaries concentrating on Thursdays three rosaries called the Perpetual Rosary, as well as with Coromotanos Wednesdays with a very pleasant formative surprise every Wednesday. And in a few days we will have the website www.virgendecoromoto.com not only in Spanish but also in English.At this time, we are encouraging people who have experienced a miracle from our Lady of Coromoto to record themselves in a video of a maximum of five minutes narrating it to disseminate it, showing that the Mother of God in Venezuela continues to perform miracles today. She not only did miracles in 1652, but also throughout the Colonial period, the independence and all the years of Her Presence in our Homeland. She is still present among us. You can send your videos to some of our telegram accounts: @mariadefleury, @mercerev, @Alberto Barrios.The message of our Lady of Coromoto, the one who stops the storm, is one of peace, union, incorporation into the Church, reception of the Sacraments and awareness that there are eternal truths. We all know the urgent need to find peace in the world; and that peace "begins inside the heart." For this reason, it is essential to continue learning about the Virgin Mary, to imitate Mary, generating and protecting life, relating to others with tenderness and compassion, and combining three languages: that of the mind, that of the heart, and that of the hands.Let us fully live being Messengers, with the awareness of feeling chosen and protagonists of God's work in union with Jesus; union that "has to be manifested by remaining in communion with the Church, with the family, with the World Apostolate of our Lady of Coromoto, with the diocese of Guanare, ... We must learn to 'pray' the works and to 'work' the prayer.We are two months away from the birthday of our Lady of Coromoto on September 8. Let's go at once preparing the way in which we are going to celebrate it. Those who can make a pilgrimage to Guanare, to visit her at home, at the place of the Apparition, we recommend that they do so. Those who cannot go, seek to celebrate it in the Parish or in the nearby Chapel, where the chapters are, involving the neighbors of your building, your block, the laity of your Parish. The idea is to seek to celebrate the feast of our Lady of Coromoto in the neighborhood, in the squares, in the family so that love and devotion to our Lady of Coromoto resonates everywhere on September 8.We are all co-responsible for the good performance of the World Apostolate of our Lady of Coromoto and of the Church. We are called to know how to integrate differences and work in Christian harmony.We want to congratulate our new Bishop of Guanare, Monsignor Owaldo Araque and reiterate the unconditional support of the World Apostolate of our Lady of Coromoto towards all that is evangelization. We want to thank Msgr. José de la Trinidad Valero, today bishop emeritus, for all his courtesies, attention and collaboration with the Apostolate.
